DISTINCTIVES
The Urban Ministry Institute of Fresno exists to provide
urban pastors and church workers with the training they need to
effectively serve their congregations.
The training we offer is:
Accessible
Students are not required to have prior academic experience.
Affordable
Students pay only for the cost of books and curriculum.
At the service of the local church. We exist not to promote
our own program, but to train leaders for urban churches. Our
training is offered in partnership with pastors who send students to
us. The only requirement for admission to the Urban Ministry
Institute of Fresno is a pastor’s recommendation.
Flexible
We are able to tailor our instruction to the needs of the students and
their churches.
INSTRUCTION is coordinated by Doug Neufeld. Doug recieived a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical and Religious Studies from Fresno Pacific College in 1983 and a Master of Divinity from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary in1999. He has been a missionary with World Impact since 1999.
COURSES
We offer locally developed courses in biblical studies, theology and practical ministry. As a satellite of The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) in Wichita, Kansas (a ministry of World Impact) we are able to offer courses from the Capstone Curriculum, a 16-module, comprehensive ministry-training program.
CERTIFICATES
Students who complete 32 credit hours of course work
receive the Certificate in Ministry and Biblical Studies.
