The Administrator’s job is to serve Jesus Christ by assisting the City Director and his staff of missionaries, doing all things administrative to allow missionaries maximized time for ministry.

I count it a privilege to serve with World Impact's Fresno ministry.  Our missionaries sometimes call me “the glue,” saying I “hold everything together” providing needed structure for our team.

My experience is diverse.  I have worked for building contractors, car dealers, doctors, lawyers, a computer company, and city government doing a variety of clerical, bookkeeping, computer, and supervisory jobs.  In 1992, God gave me a simple desire to put my skills to use where they would help people.  Through several miraculous “happenstances,” He fulfilled that desire when I was offered the job of Executive Assistant at Poverello House, a homeless shelter in Fresno.  I served there for one year, converting their hand-bookkeeping system to a computerized system.  I joined the staff at World Impact in 1994 and marvel still at God’s perfect fitting together of my skills with the needs here.

A certain amount of disarray characterizes inner-city ministry since we work with a mobile population and families that are often in crisis.  There is a need to reassess priorities on a minute-to-minute basis while making sure deadlines are met and information is communicated effectively.  If there is a line between administration and ministry, it is often blurred as a typical day unfolds--missionaries are out of the office--a community person appears needing a resume typed, or a ride to the doctor’s office, or a flyer for a neighborhood gathering, or help filling out a legal form, or a eulogy composed for a departed loved one.  My plans for the day are put on hold as I take these opportunities to minister to those who come with unexpected needs.  Being a very focused, project-oriented person, it is sure evidence of God’s work in my life when I can view these opportunities not as interruptions, but as “God-appointments.”  It is a great source of personal joy when I allow God to give me His perspective, viewing people as He does, and seeing my administrative duties as tools to accomplish His purpose--introducing people to Jesus Christ.
