Luke and Gretchen heard about World Impact when they were students at Penn State.  Luke felt called in high school to minister in the city, but ran the other way!  Gretchen also had to pray about it before feeling that this was what God wanted.  In 1998 they joined World Impact’s Chester, Pennsylvania ministry, where they served for two years; in 2000, they moved to our Fresno ministry, and in 2005, Luke became Fresno's City Director.

Luke leads his staff, making sure they take the time to pray and fellowship regularly together--the unity of our team is a high priority.  As time allows, he takes part in teen and church-plant ministry; he coordinates the schedules of visiting missions and work groups, and he keeps the National Office updated on Fresno's ministry.  At times, he can also be found on the roof fixing an air conditioner, in the locker rooms doing plumbing repairs, or in the parking lot getting a vehicle running.

Gretchen enjoys time with her children--Elizabeth, Caleb, Emma and Ben.  She is home schooling Elizabeth, Caleb and Emma.   She also takes part in women's ministries and home fellowships.
